  • Construction Site Theft On The Rise
Neighbourhood Watch and Peel Police are asking Brampton residents who live in or are moving into a new development, to look out for suspicious activity in their neighbourhood. Theft of high value items such as fireplaces, furnaces, water heaters and air conditioning units are on the rise and are resulting in serious losses to local developers. If you suspect that someone is stealing from a construction site near you report it immediately to Peel Regional Police 22 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau and then let us know at Safe City and we'll share it with people on our Website.

  • Warm-up Theft
Neighbourhood Watch and Peel Police 22 Division are reminding residents not to leave their vehicles running while unattended. During the 2000 and 2001 winter season, approximately 36 percent of all vehicle thefts in the 22 Division area occurred while people left their vehicles running and unattended in order to warm it up. These vehicles are easy targets for potential thieves and many times become used for further criminal activity including joy riding, re-sale, and for use in break and enters and robberies. Often times, it's your own neighbours who become victims of these secondary crimes making the problem you've contributed to even worse. Should you become aware of anyone in your neighbourhood warming up their vehicle while it is unattended, please report the license plate to the Brampton Safe City office by visiting our website @ www.bramptonsafecity.ca.
