Looking for Brampton's Greatest Neighbourhood

Do you live in a great neighbourhood? The Brampton Guardian has teamed-up with Brampton Safe City Association and the City of Brampton in a quest to find Brampton’s greatest neighbourhood. During the next four weeks, these organizations are running a contest to bestow this prestigious title on a Brampton neighbourhood.

There are some fantastic prizes for the winning group... a catered block party for your street with fabulous food, entertainment, games, music and more... a prize package of recreational passes and fitness memberships at city recreation centres... and up to $1,000 cash for a neighbourhood project of your choosing. The most sought-after prize may be the official ‘bragging rights’ that you live in Brampton’s best neighbourhood.

What makes a great neighbourhood? If you ask residents, they won’t hesitate to tell you: it’s a safe place where people are friendly and look out for one another. It’s an area where they are proud to live, and an awesome place for kids to grow up. There are many reasons for a neighbourhood to be considered great, and we would like to hear about yours.

Nominations for the ‘Brampton’s Greatest Neighbourhood’ will be accepted by Brampton Safe City Association until the contest closing date of Thursday, September 8.

Nomination forms can be downloaded from the Brampton Safe City website: www.bramptonsafecity.ca, or can be picked up by calling 905-793-5484, ext 223. To be eligible, neighbourhoods must be a residential area within the city of Brampton, and include a minimum of 10 homes to a maximum of 200 homes (approximate).

Submissions will be reviewed by a community panel of judges, and announced on Brampton Day, September 24 during ‘Brampton’s Biggest Block Party’ celebration in the downtown that day.
