Roles in the Neighbourhood Watch Program

There are two ways you can be involved with Neighbourhood Watch; by becoming a member or captain.

Neigbourhood Watch Members

Support the Neighbourhood Watch program and the efforts of Brampton Safe City

  • Be Aware – register on Brampton Safe City’s email communications network to receive alerts and information about safety issues affecting your neighourhood.

  • Be Alert – Watch for suspicious or unusual activities that may indicate a crime is happening; learn to recognize unsafe situations (Peel Regional Police will provide training in home security and personal safety topics on request)

  • Be Active – Report suspicious activities to the police by calling 905-453-3311 if it is a non-emergency, or 911 if it is an emergency; communicate with your neighbours and other citizens about safety concerns in your area; and support your Neighbourhood Watch Captains and Brampton Safe City whenever possible

Neigbourhood Watch Captains

  • Meet new residents and encourage them to join the program
  • Keep the program active your area
  • Be a resource and communications link for safety concerns
  • Encourage residents to take part in neighbourhood safety activities

To find out more about starting Neighbourhood Watch in your area, become a member or to request information and resources on improving security in your neighbourhood, contact Safe City at 905-793-5484 or e-mailing:
